News Releases Governor sees 40 assets program in actionGovernor Dave Heineman visited Central Middle School to learn more about the 40 developmental assets program and to present the Millard School District with an award for using the program as a tool for enhanced parent involvement. Superintendent Keith Lutz accepted the Governor's Education Initiative Award for Parental Involvement. The 40 assets program helps teachers and parents track the character development of each student. The program is used in all Millard schools. Students and staff at Central Middle School showed the Governor how the program is used extensively at school and at home.
Students mark 100th day of schoolStudents and staff at Morton Elementary School celebrated the 100th day of school on Jan. 29. Pictured is a kindergartner with Principal Julie Bergstrom. Students especially enjoyed stringing and eating necklaces made with 100 fruit loops. Millard South students reveal inventionsStudents in the New Frontier program at Millard South High School showed off their ingenuity during the annual Invention Fair. Each student created a display and made presentations to explain their invention. Millard wins Governor's AwardGov. Dave Heineman presented awards to the Millard, Cozad, Kearney and Sutherland school districts for their efforts to engage parents in their child's education. Each school district received $1,000, courtesy of All Lines Interlocal Cooperative Aggregate Pool (ALICAP) which sponsored the award. Millard was honored for implementing the 40 Developmental Assets program as a tool to help teachers and parents track the character development of each student.
